Before there was a tradition of a white wedding gown though colour, design and style can depend on various religions and cultures. Nowadays there are such popular tints of white as ivory, primrose and daffodil. Actually the fashion for white coloured wedding gown sprung in the 19th century, the first brides who wore white dresses were Mary Queen of Scots and Queen Victoria. Since then white wedding gown is in fashion. Though recently it has declined  popularity. Actually now it's a tendency of bride's wearing a blue (suggesting purity), creamy or pink wedding gown. Long ago such colours as black and red weren't appropriate for weddings in Europe, for black is a grief colour and red is a prostitute colour. In India it's green standing for fertility and red for success that are preferred for wedding gowns.
